Killa Beez Sting the Aces N Sk8s in Season Six Home Opener
Saturday, April 14th, 2012 – Old Coliseum, Downtown Sioux Falls
The old Coliseum was certainly more of a “Doll-iseum” Saturday night as a sold-out crowd cheered on the Sioux Falls Roller Dollz Killa Beez to their triumphant victory over the Black Hills Aces N Sk8s. The Beez skated a dominating game, despite some of the fresh new faces on the roster. New rookies making their debut in front of a home crowd included Clashtyn #91, Prior Convictions #777, Trixie Tang #H2 and Violent Jem #10.
The Beez didn’t waste any time or show any mercy against the Aces, racking up a quick 50 points by the fourth jam. The Beez kept the pack slow off the line, sticking together in a diamond formation at the back of pack and snaring the jammer. The Aces worked the front of the pack but weren’t able to hold back the Beez’ agile jammers as familiar faces Ltl Wicked #333, Jackie O’Smashus #101 and Bonebrake #21 weaved their way through for the lead.
At the half, the Aces had only accumulated 14 points but worked on a rally, gaining lead jammer with skaters Danger Girl #XLR8 and Crimson Splatter #SR18. The Beez hammered back, knocking the Aces jammer hard, sometime against the padded walls of the Coliseum in their efforts – and added to their commanding lead to finish the game with a 267 – 76 score.
Proceeds from the evening’s event will be donated to the Sioux Falls chapter of Autism Speaks, a non-profit advocacy organization dedicated to raising awareness about Autism and helping to fund research and treatment.
