The Sioux Falls Roller Dollz were founded in 2006 and are members of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).<\/p>\n

The Sioux Falls Roller Dollz were founded in 2006 by Pain Maker (Jayme Nelson) and Queen Elizabitch (Elizabeth Nelson).<\/p>\n

In September 2006, the founders met and set goals. They immediately began sending out bulletins on MySpace, distributing flyers around Sioux Falls, working on a venue, logo, printing shirts and recruiting interested parties to derby. They scheduled a recruiting event where their expectations were far exceeded! Close to fifty interested women showed up for that event; women from all walks of life who shared one common interest\u2014the desire to play derby.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

All of our league members are unpaid volunteers. Our skaters pay for their own skates & gear, insurance, uniforms, as well as dues to help pay for league expenses such as practice facility rental. We are 100% volunteer run and our members keep the league running by taking on a variety of league jobs and positions. Our members also volunteer at a variety of charity events as part of our membership requirements.<\/p>\n

Our skaters come from all walks of life. Some of the careers our skaters have include hairdresser, HVAC Technician, teachers, therapist, and architect. We have moms and even a grandma on the team. Ages can range from 18 and up… even a few skaters in their 40s are on our team of skaters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Our league strives to make our events family friendly as well as work to promote positive body image mentality for girls and women in our community. We invite you to check out a bout and even think about getting involved!!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
